Minimum and recommended requirements for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

Treyarch and Beenox have shared a new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War specialized in the features it will have on PC. The game is one of those that Nvidia has sponsored so we will enjoy Ray Tracing and DLSS on the graphics cards of the green team that have support for these technologies.

The minimum and recommended requirements for PC have also been revealed and this time they have been very specific to talk about what is recommended for 1080p and what you need to have to run the game in “Esports mode” (more than 140 FPS) and all the requirements to play 4K with Ray Tracing and everything activated.

From the highest to the lowest

The “Ultra RTX” mode with the highest possible visual fidelity will require 250 GB of storage and is probably the heaviest game in the entire industry today. He also asks us for an Intel 9900K or a Ryzen 3700X as well as an RTX 3080.

The competitive mode requires a little less, a 3070 instead of a 3080, and the possibility of using a Vega 64. Of course, “only” requires 175 GB and an I7 8700 or a Ryzen 1800 X. The same specifications are as necessary to play with Ray Tracing, although they do not clarify at what resolution.

Minimum and recommended requirements for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

Finally, we have the “minimum” and the “recommended” which would be the 1080p and 60 FPS experience of the PS4 PRO and the Xbox One X. A GTX 970 and a Radeon 390 will suffice, but also a GTX 1660 or an RX 580. An I5 2500K or a Ryzen 1600X will suffice in terms of processors and you will only need 12 GB of RAM (higher settings require 16).

The minimum requires an I3 4340 or an FX 6300 as a processor, 8 GB of RAM, and any of the following GPUs: Radeon 7950, GTX 670, or GTX 1650. Also, you will not need Windows 10 as in all other configurations.

Minimum and recommended requirements for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

You could say that the title is quite accessible, anyone who has to keep up with current AAA will need a lot more than what the minimum requirements ask for. So Treyarch and Beenox have worked well. However, at least 175 GB of storage represents a problem.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 13 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, X, and PC.

STEAM reaches another record and they go

2020 was an incredible year for Steam, although the main reason for the large numbers was unfortunate. And is that the Covid-19 pandemic led many people to confinement in which the use of the PC for fun was also a psychological escape for many problems.

After the first peek of the pandemic, the numbers on Valve’s platform reached a new high, for slightly more pleasant reasons such as the festive Christmas and New Year period that normally makes many people have more free time to play their favorite titles. But now Steam hit an all-time high again for the third consecutive month.

The best start to the year for Steam

Sundays, in particular, are the best day for Steam, between 15 and 19 in Spain, more precisely. It was in this time slot that a few moments ago, 26 million users connected to the platform were registered, hundreds of thousands more than those seen in the previous largest record in January of this year.

Already in December, the numbers showed the imposing mark of 25 million simultaneous users, a number that the platform surpassed in January and just surpassed again in February and a figure that many think it could surpass again in the coming weeks, which It would already make 2021 the best start to the year in the history of Gabe Newell’s platform.

The emergence of this new wave of players seems to have as its epicenter the launch of two very popular games in China such as Dyson Sphere and Tale of Immortal, which injects Steam with millions of new players from that country alone, something that shows that the demographic landscape of the video game scene begins to change as we had already anticipated when Steam confirmed the launch of its service in the Asian country.
