Halo Infinite: The Winter Contingency Christmas Event And The Criticism It Has Received

The Halo Infinite developers learned from the criticism the past Tenrai: Fracture event received, but it seems they are making new mistakes with the Battle Pass rewards from the Winter Contingency Christmas event.
This new event, which began on Tuesday, December 21 and runs until Tuesday, January 4, 2022, allows players to earn cosmetic items. The problem is that it limits the rewards to one per day and this was not liked by many players.
What are the Halo Infinite Winter Contingency event rewards and how can I earn them?
- Armor Casing ‘Peppermint Laughter’ (Peppermint Laughter) – Level 2
- Right shoulder pad for Mark VII armor – level 3
- Left shoulder pad for Mark VII armor – level 4
- Assault Rifle ‘Peppermint Laughter’ Liner – Level 5
- Christmas Emblem – Level 6
- Christmas Emblem – Level 7
- Peppermint Laughter Pistol Liner – Level 5
- Mark VII Armor Left Leg Ammo Bag – Tier 9
- Armor Casing ‘Sunset Contessa’ (Sunset) – level 1
To earn each reward, we only have to play one game of Arena or Team Battle each day. These modes belong to the free multiplayer mode
What is the criticism of the event due to?
To earn all the rewards from the Winter Contingency Christmas event in Halo Infinite, we must play at least one game per day in ten days between December 21 and January 4. That means we have at least four “days off” during the event where we don’t have to play.
The problem is that many players are saying on social networks and the official game forums that they are feeling forced to play in a time that they usually do not dedicate to video games, but to spend it with their families. It is true that a game a day does not require a lot of dedication, but they say they would rather be able to earn the rewards at their own pace during the event rather than having to dedicate some time each day to obtain them.

Steam Deck 2 won’t arrive for a couple of years

When asked about the possible arrival of a more powerful Steam Deck, Valve’s Pierre-Loup Griffais hinted that we won’t see a successor to the hybrid between PC and portable console for at least a couple of years. The decision depends both on the intention to maintain a fixed ecosystem in terms of optimization targets for developers, guaranteeing players that every Deck in circulation is able to run the same titles, and on hardware issues.
Valve, Griffais said, will work on increasing performance only when it is possible to significantly increase power without significant impacts on efficiency and autonomy. And it’s something that according to the developer won’t happen over the next two years. We will therefore have to wait until at least 2025 if not 2026 to see a Steam Deck 2 appear.
Changing performance levels is not something we take lightly and we only want to do it when a significant enough improvement can be achieved. We also don’t want increased performance to come at a significant cost to power efficiency and battery life. I don’t foresee such a leap being possible in the next couple of years, but we are still closely monitoring innovations in architecture and manufacturing processes to see where this goes. – Pierre-Loup Griffais, Valve
Despite Griffais’ words, improved versions of the current model cannot be ruled out which would undoubtedly benefit from greater autonomy or a screen with Variable Refresh Rate. Just think of the recent rumors about the new Valve hardware and also how it never refers to specific models, excluding only the increase in power.
Meanwhile, the Steam Deck is still capable of running the latest games but struggles with titles like Starfield, despite the optimizations of version 3.5 of the console’s operating system, unlike consoles like the Asus ROG Ally and the Ayaneo AIR 1S. It stays through most attractive in terms of price /quality ratio, being available for 419 euros in the version with 64 GB of storage, however expandable with solutions such as the WD Black SN770M SSD.

Director of Star Wars Jedi Survivor Leaves EA, Why

Director of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor, Stig Asmussen is reportedly leaving Electronic Arts ( EA ). Why?
According to reports, Asmussen is leaving EA to seek other challenges in his gaming industry career.
“With careful thought and consideration, Stig Asmussen has decided to leave Respawn to pursue other adventures, and we wish him the best,” an EA spokesperson said.
“Respawn’s veteran leaders will take a key role in guiding the team as they continue their work on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” EA continued.
Asmussen has been a director at Respawn Entertainment for 14 years. Previously, he worked at Sony Interactive Entertainment, where he primarily worked on the God of War series, including God of War III.
Currently, Asmussen has not yet determined his next destination.
The Star Wars: Jedi series has been a striking success story for EA, making it something of an exception to the company’s experience with the franchise as a whole. When EA first revealed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in 2018, the company had just faced major controversy over the implementation of loot boxes in Battlefront 2.
Despite being criticized for bugs, Fallen Order turned out to be a success for EA , and Survivor further strengthened the series.
Asmussen previously said that he wanted to make Star Wars: Jedi a trilogy, so his sudden departure is all the more surprising.

The second story of Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island is now available

The second part of the collaboration between Sea of Thieves and Monkey Island will take us on a search for three lost symbols.
The last Xbox Game Showcase had several protagonists. Fable, Clockwork Revolution, and Towerbone were some of the titles that attracted the most attention, without forgetting Starfield. However, there was another exclusive Microsoft game that announced the news at the show that, in the meantime, was somewhat more covered up.
We talk about Sea of Thieves and its new free expansion: The Legend of Monkey Island. A unique collaboration with the iconic license that allows us to live unique adventures. A series of new chapters that allow us to explore Melee Island and enjoy new game mechanics. Something that we already saw in the first chapter and that is repeated in the second that is now available.
Return to Melee Island and embark on a new adventure
Dubbed The Search for Guybrush, this new grand tale picks up where the previous one left off. In it, we have the mission to make Guybrush Threepwood see reason, for which we will have to find the three symbols with true pirate courage. This new chapter brings new mechanics and new areas available on Melee Island to explore.
Previously, we could only visit the city, while the rest of the island was covered by a mysterious fog that prevented passage and has now moved in some areas.
Sea of Thieves is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, in addition to being included in Xbox Game Pass.
