BlizzCon 2022 will not take place! Blizzard prefers to focus on games

Hard times have come for those who dreamed of going to next year’s BlizzCon. Blizzard has officially informed players that despite the initial plans to organize a hybrid event, the rally will not take place next year.
BlizzCon is an effort for the entire studio
This event was usually held every year in California. It usually fell in November, and on the main stage of the convention, Blizzard usually spared the hottest announcements for players. Last year, BlizzCon was held only in digital form – for reasons we all know. Now that there was a shadow of a chance to restore him in physical form, the organizer himself unexpectedly withdrew.
As reported by VGC, the resources and time that Blizzard would invest in organizing the convention, the corporation prefers to spend on supporting its teams and producing upcoming games. It even sounds noble, but we all know that it’s not just the problem. The corporation also announced that the event is not going away for good. The event will come back in a completely different form.
Trouble at Blizzard
As we know very well, Blizzard has huge problems with accusations of molesting women in the company and allowing the development of a corporate culture that also fosters their humiliation. The case is already close to government law enforcement in the US, so organizing a public convention and exposing yourself to consumer criticism in a live event is certainly not the best idea for a Californian corporation.
When we combine this with a few unpopular decisions, such as the existence of Diablo Immortal, declines in the number of active players in World of Warcraft, and the silence about the development of Overwatch 2, an explosive mixture is created that can end in a marketing disaster.

However, it is not that tragic. The recently released Diablo II Resurrected met with a very warm reception from players, despite its many ills. The love for the Blizzard brand is still present in many nostalgics who grew up on its productions in the 90s and 2000s.
Rebuilding players’ trust will, however, require systematic grassroots work and massive changes to the company’s corporate structures. Until then, BlizzCon in physical form has little chance of survival.

Lego celebrates bricks tomorrow will be world day

Tomorrow will be World Lego Day. As a symbolic date, the day on which the first patent relating to the legendary colored bricks was filed by Godtfred Kirk Christiansen, son of Ole, the founder of the company. The patent was filed on January 28, 1958, to be precise, but it is interesting to observe that the Lego brand already existed for more than 20 years. Ole Kirk Christiansen, in fact, was a carpenter who had named his handcrafted wooden toy store as such. “Lego” comes from a typical Danish phrase, namely “Leg Godt”, which roughly means “play well”.
1958 was the decisive year for Lego: the company, which in the meantime had evolved and expanded and had begun to adopt plastic as a raw material alongside wood, took five years to find the right combination of materials, molds, and measures of the interlocking system of the bricks to guarantee the right compromise between usability, stability, and versatility.
Lego has always had an extremely high standard of quality: tolerances are practically zero and systems to make sure that each brick is exactly as expected are very sophisticated. This obsession with quality has been one of the winning elements that have allowed the group to establish itself on the market, even at the expense of objectively not exactly popular prices: how many times have you found a defective or missing piece in a pack? We bet the vast majority of you enthusiasts will answer “zero”.
Due to their extremely versatile nature, in which very few are the limits beyond the player’s imagination, Legos have become a fundamental part of popular culture that goes far beyond the “children’s toy” context in which they were born. We’ve done everything with it – working table lamps, covers, and even complete computer cases, customizable mechanical keyboards, and even a 1:1 scale reproduction of a Bugatti Chiron and a Lamborghini Sìan.
In fact, we could say that recognizing and satisfying slightly more grown-up fans has been one of the key factors that have allowed the company to grow further over the past few years. We could identify at least three key initiatives in this sense:
- The development of sets specifically aimed at adults: made not necessarily to play with, but to be displayed as an ornament, carefully choosing the subjects and dimensions based on popular cultural trends with the reference target. Let’s think, for example, of the Architecture line (the Eiffel Tower even exceeds 10,000 pieces), of the very recent Botanical Collection, or of the iconic car and vehicle models such as the Bugatti Chiron, the Porsche 911 Gt3 RS, the Vespa or the Fiat 500.
- Partnerships with brands and franchises are super popular and appreciated in popular culture and beyond. From here were born strands such as Lego Star Wars (especially the huge and very expensive Ultimate Collector Series), Lego Harry Potter, and the most famous vehicles in the history of cinema (from the legendary DeLorean in Back to the Future to Dom Toretto’s Dodge Charger in Fast & Furious, passing through the Ecto-1 of the Ghostbusters and the Tumbler of Batman).
- Engage the community with the Lego Ideas initiative, where the most interesting projects of ordinary enthusiasts are transformed into real and mass-produced sets. Absolute masterpieces have come from here, including the reproduction of the typewriter, the house of Mom I Lost the Plane, the NASA Apollo Saturn V rocket, and the Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh.
- And then of course there are all the parallel initiatives that expand the brand into other contexts, especially the cinematographic/television one (The Lego Movie is particularly appreciated!), video game (the very recent success of the Lego Star Wars saga).
In short, the advance of the Danish bricks seems intent on anything but stopping. And what better way to celebrate them than building a beautiful set? We already have a precise plan:

The Last of Us Remake Game Can Be Played For Free, It’s Really Easy!

Taking advantage of the hype of The Last of Us series that is currently busy on HBO, Sony is giving fans the opportunity to play The Last of Us Remake game for free. However, there are several conditions that gamers must pass.
Previously, The Last of Us series made the game more widely known. After getting the praise, many fans then returned to playing the game to repeat the hype and storyline of the zombie series.
Quoted Game Byte, Sunday (22/1/2023), Sony then offered a free trial for The Last of Us: Part 1. The original game was released for PS3 in 2013 before being remastered for PS4 in 2014.
For some games, this apocalyptic classic from Naughty Dog is considered one of the best games of all time. However, to play The Last of Us: Part 1 for free, there are conditions that must be met.
You must subscribe to PlayStation Plus at the Premium tier. Unfortunately, just subscribing to the Essential or Extra tier won’t give you access to the trial (demo).
That said, The Last of Us: Remastered was offered at a basic subscription level in October 2019. Additionally, it is also part of the PlayStation Plus Collection on PlayStation 5.
The trial of The Last of Us remake will be playable for two hours. During that time, you will have access to the entire game. However, that won’t be enough to finish the game, so of course it’s called a trial.
In part 1, it might take you around 15 to 20+ hours to finish the story. But, even so, you will still be able to get a trophy if you successfully complete the game completely. How do you want to try?

Cinematic League of Legends 2023 Flooded with Blasphemy, Riot Games Gives ‘Love Letters’ to Fans

It has been a tradition since 2018 for Riot Games to release a cinematic video to open the new season of the game League of Legends.
To the extent that many fans have been waiting for this video because of the excellent visual quality of the CG, music, and storytelling.
However, this year it seems that Riot Games have disappointed many fans because the cinematic video for Season 2023 did not meet many people’s expectations.
The reason is that in this year’s cinematic video, Riot Games only displays cinematics from the LoL map, namely Summoner’s Rift with only background music and dubbing.
Even though the visuals are still very good, the cinematic this time feels empty because there is no story-telling and action from Champions as usual in previous cinematic videos.
As a result, because it received a lot of criticism, Riot Games provided clarification. They stated that this happened because there were unexpected conditions that forced them to find alternatives to make videos this year.
