BlizzCon 2022 will not take place! Blizzard prefers to focus on games

Hard times have come for those who dreamed of going to next year’s BlizzCon. Blizzard has officially informed players that despite the initial plans to organize a hybrid event, the rally will not take place next year.
BlizzCon is an effort for the entire studio
This event was usually held every year in California. It usually fell in November, and on the main stage of the convention, Blizzard usually spared the hottest announcements for players. Last year, BlizzCon was held only in digital form – for reasons we all know. Now that there was a shadow of a chance to restore him in physical form, the organizer himself unexpectedly withdrew.
As reported by VGC, the resources and time that Blizzard would invest in organizing the convention, the corporation prefers to spend on supporting its teams and producing upcoming games. It even sounds noble, but we all know that it’s not just the problem. The corporation also announced that the event is not going away for good. The event will come back in a completely different form.
Trouble at Blizzard
As we know very well, Blizzard has huge problems with accusations of molesting women in the company and allowing the development of a corporate culture that also fosters their humiliation. The case is already close to government law enforcement in the US, so organizing a public convention and exposing yourself to consumer criticism in a live event is certainly not the best idea for a Californian corporation.
When we combine this with a few unpopular decisions, such as the existence of Diablo Immortal, declines in the number of active players in World of Warcraft, and the silence about the development of Overwatch 2, an explosive mixture is created that can end in a marketing disaster.

However, it is not that tragic. The recently released Diablo II Resurrected met with a very warm reception from players, despite its many ills. The love for the Blizzard brand is still present in many nostalgics who grew up on its productions in the 90s and 2000s.
Rebuilding players’ trust will, however, require systematic grassroots work and massive changes to the company’s corporate structures. Until then, BlizzCon in physical form has little chance of survival.

A Plague Tale: Requiem, announced the launch date with a gameplay trailer

A Plague Tale: Requiem saw it recently on the occasion of the Summer Game Fest, and precisely of the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. On that occasion, however, no launch date was announced.
We, therefore, expected to have to wait a bit before the game returned to show itself, but today a new and full-bodied trailer of the game published by Focus Home Interactive and developed by Asobo Studio was released. And together with the gameplay video, the release date also arrives on October 18, 2022.
Pre-orders for A Plague Tale: Requiem is already open for all versions: the game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X | S (where it will be available from day one on Game Pass ), and PC. Different speech for the version dedicated to Nintendo Switch, which will arrive in an as yet unknown future.
The trailer shows us some exciting sequences as the two protagonists, Amicia and little Hugo, must cross hostile territory in an attempt to escape from the soldiers who try to capture them.
In the twelve minutes of gameplay, it clearly emerges that the interaction between the two characters and their skills will be a key element of the game both from a narrative point of view and regards the game design solutions adopted by the development team in the construction of the levels.
The player will be called to interpret the situation in which he finds himself by choosing different approaches and favoring – at least in this initial phase – a stealth strategy, even if in some cases the clash with the enemies will prove inevitable.
As far as the technical level of the game is concerned, given that it is a next-gen title, the work done by Asobo Studios (which is not surprisingly the team of wonders behind the impressive Microsoft Flight Simulator ) already seems excellent.
Finally, the Collector’s Edition was also presented for those who are not satisfied with the simple physical or digital version.

From Software is about to announce a new game: development is almost done

Hidetake Miyazaki, president of From Software, was recently the protagonist of an interview with the Japanese portal 4Gamer, in which he dropped what is a real bomb for fans of the software house: From Software’s next game has already entered the final stage of development, so it shouldn’t be long before the official announcement.
Approximately 4 months after the launch of Elden Ring, From Software is therefore in the process of releasing a new title, however, fans of souls like should begin to contain the enthusiasm, since there is ample chance that the next project will go in one direction. completely different, digging into nothing less than the company’s past.
According to rumors, in fact, From the new game could be none other than Armored Core 6, the sixth chapter of the famous series focused on mecha combat, born in 1997 on the first PlayStation. The saga has been missing for some time now, considering that the fifth chapter has been released on PS3 and Xbox 360, so it would be a highly anticipated return by fans.
The indications regarding Armored Core emerged already at the beginning of the year from a survey shared by From Software, in which they spoke about the possible return of the series.
That the company was working on another game had actually been known for some time, more precisely from an interview in 2018. On that occasion, Miyazaki had announced that the studio had been working on three and a half titles since 2016, which with the time turned out to be Déraciné ( the half-title, a VR experience for PS4), Sekiro, and Elden Ring.
The remaining game is none other than the project now in the final phase – born 6 years ago – which we will probably discover very soon.
